Importance of Preschool Learning

Preschool learning prepares children for formal schooling. It helps them develop essential skills such as language and literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, critical thinking, and social skills. By fostering a love for learning, preschool enables children to transition smoothly into primary school.

Ace Orator is a programme for children to build on speaking effectively in public, both in school and in your personal life. This programme aims to help children overcome fears, build leadership qualities, and develop critical thinking skills such as problem solving and investigating.

Aside from presenting, Ace Orator also nurtures Audience Etiquette, focusing on dos and don'ts as audience, and active audience participation.

Our Language and Literacy programme focuses on developing children's foundational skills in communication, listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It aims to promote language development, vocabulary expansion, and pre-reading and pre-writing skills through 3 main components which include Phonics, Word Building, and Read With Me.

Teachers will engage children in conversations, storytelling, and group discussions, encouraging them to express themselves, ask questions, and listen actively. Vocabulary development, sentence construction, and communication skills are fostered through interactive activities.

At Ace @ Work, we support children's bilingual development from an early age. To cultivate their interest in learning, children will be exposed to fun and engaging activities such as reading, drama-acting, singing, writing, and more. As children progress, they are gradually exposed to Chinese characters. Stroke order, character recognition, and simple writing exercises are included in the curriculum to develop their writing skills.

With Chinese Language being incorporated into your child's daily interactions and routine, he/she will gain the confidence to communicate naturally as their second language.

Gross motor skills refer to the physical abilities that involve the large muscles of the body, such as those used for crawling, walking, running, jumping, and balancing. These skills play a crucial role in a child's development, as they enable them to engage in various physical activities and navigate their environment.

Through a variety of physical activities, outdoor play, structured games, and movement-based learning experiences in supporting the development of the children's gross motor skills, a solid foundation is laid for their overall physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being.

Your child will be exposed to a language-rich environment and engage in activities that promote language acquisition, such as storytelling, discussions, and interactive games.

The curriculum aims to foster emergent literacy skills which includes activities that promote phonemic awareness, letter recognition, and pre-reading and pre-writing skills. Your child will engage in age-appropriate activities such as recognising and matching letters, engaging in rhyming games, and exploring books and other print materials.

Mini Master is a programme that provides children the opportunities to explore a variety of visual arts to nurture process skills such as Creativity, Observing, Predicting, Comparing, Investigating, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Communicating, Collaboration and more. Children will be exposed to different cultures and learn to understand and respect cultural diversity.

The 3 main components of Mini Master include Visual Arts, Cultural Music, and Science Experiments.

Shielding children from current affairs may seem well-intentioned, but there are valid reasons why it is important not to completely shield children from the realities of the world. Children are inquisitive and curious about the world around them—Introducing current affairs to children helps them develop awareness of the world beyond their immediate surroundings. It exposes them to a range of topics, events, and issues, fostering a sense of curiosity and broadening their perspectives.

Our teachers approach the topics in a simplified and age-appropriate manner, by incorporating file materials such as news articles and pictures from magazine. This promotes cognitive development and cultivate a sense of empathy, compassion and understanding for others.

Our Chinese culture and art programme helps your child develop a sense of cultural identity and appreciation for their heritage. It introduces them to Chinese traditions, customs, festivals, music, dance, calligraphy, painting, and other forms of artistic expression, fostering a connection to their roots.

Through this programme, children learn about mutual understanding, respect, and acceptance of different cultures too.
